Reaching 90% isn't possible with the final alone — you'd need 110%, which is over 100%. Aim for the highest score you can, or set a lower target.

Final grade questions
How do I calculate what I need on the final?
Take your target grade, subtract your current grade multiplied by the share of the course that isn’t the final, then divide by the final’s weight. In formula form: needed = (target − current × (1 − w)) ÷ w, where w is the final’s weight as a decimal. Gradejar does this instantly as you type.
What if the score I need is over 100%?
Then your target isn’t reachable with the final alone — Gradejar tells you the exact (impossible) number so you can set a realistic target or aim for the highest score you can. You may still be able to raise your grade with other remaining work.
What does “already secured” mean?
If even a 0% on the final would keep you at or above your target, your target is locked in no matter what — Gradejar flags it so you know the pressure’s off.
Where do I find my final exam’s weight?
It’s on your syllabus — often something like “Final exam: 20% of your grade.” Enter that number as the final’s weight. If your class uses weighted categories instead, our grade calculator handles that case.
